Duration: 30 minutes · Learning goal: Trace a claim to a source and distinguish evidence from interpretation.
Facilitator sequence
- 0–5 min · Each learner writes one claim from a short public explainer.
- 5–12 min · Follow its source link and record author, date, method and scope.
- 12–20 min · In pairs, mark observation, interpretation and uncertainty.
- 20–27 min · Rewrite the claim so it matches the evidence.
- 27–30 min · Exit check: name one question that remains open.
Participant worksheet
- Claim in my own words:
- Original source and date:
- What was observed or measured?
- What is interpretation?
- What limit matters?
Self-check: Can the learner identify an observation, an interpretation and a limitation?
Closure: Record a source to revisit and one unresolved question.
